Principles¶
Our moral compass.
Context¶
myPolitics handles the most polarising subject there is, for a young audience, with no budget to repair a damaged reputation. These are the rules that decide the hard calls - they are constraints, not aspirations.
Opportunity¶
1. Credibility above all¶
Methodology, question wording and results have to hold up to hostile reading from every direction. Nothing ships that we could not defend publicly. Credibility is the only asset we own that cannot be rebuilt quickly.
2. Independence¶
No external financing, from anyone related to political sphere - no party, no institution, no donor with an interest in the answers. Self-funded means nobody can ask for anything in return.
3. Neutrality¶
We do not hold a position. In quizzes that means no axis is the "correct" one; in media it means the host moderates and does not argue. We hand people the canvas of the discussion and stay off it, we're not the painter.
4. Presence across the whole spectrum¶
From left to right, in every kind of outlet. Being welcome everywhere is the proof of neutrality and the mechanism of reach at the same time. If one side stops taking our quizzes, something is wrong with us, not with them.
5. Substance over emotion¶
Every design decision should move a user one step from feeling toward understanding. Detailed, multi-axis results instead of a single verdict; explanations instead of scores.
6. Education through play¶
Serious purpose, friendly form. If it is not enjoyable, it does not get finished, shared, or learned from. Fun is a requirement, not a compromise.
7. Mission-driven organisation¶
People join for growth, meaning and co-creation - so the organisation owes them exactly that: real autonomy, real ownership, and work that visibly matters.
8. Respect the user's data¶
Political views are a special category of personal data. We collect them for research and self-knowledge, never to identify, sell or target anyone. We should make sure it's not possible to expose any individual views.
Risk¶
- Neutrality is read as evasion by people who want us to take a side, and costs us the easy engagement partisanship would buy.
- Independence caps how fast we can grow and rules out funding paths competitors take for granted.
- Refusing emotional framing means losing some attention to products willing to use it.
