How

The operating model and how the four modules feed each other.

Context

myPolitics has run since 2018 with no external funding and no paid promotion. Everything about how we work follows from that: we cannot buy reach, we cannot buy staff, so the product itself has to earn both.

Opportunity

Education through play

The quiz is the vehicle. Gamification is not decoration - it is the distribution mechanism. Colour, animation and pacing keep people in the questionnaire; the questionnaire makes them think; the result screen pays that off by showing their views across many detailed axes. That depth is what turns a finished quiz into self-analysis, a screenshot, and a comparison with friends.

Engineered virality

Reach is built, not bought, in three moves:

  1. Proof of concept to a focus group - Ship early to friends and politics forums, treat their feedback as the roadmap.
  2. Engagement at every layer - Every step of the funnel is designed to be worth continuing, and the result is designed to be worth sharing.
  3. Public figures - Politicians, journalists and influencers are reached through patient background work, take the quiz, and publish their own results each year. In the 2019 parliamentary election this made the product viral - 100,000+ users in the pre-election week alone.

Neutrality as an operating rule

The editorial arm proved the same rule in another medium: the host is a moderator, not a participant. That is what let us put Krzysztof Bosak and Radosław Sikorski in one substantive debate, and what makes figures from every side willing to be associated with us.

Organisation

  • Holarchy - Thin, flat, overlapping working groups with real autonomy. This is what makes a team of students and pupils viable - it maximises the ideas we can extract and lets people move between groups.
  • Compensation that is not money - Growth, mission and co-ownership of something bigger than yourself. This has to be the foundation, not a consolation.
  • Automate everything without a human in it - Graphics generation, social promotion, live streams, meeting channels, communication with fans and politicians. Routine editorial work runs itself.

How the four modules feed each other

  • Quiz is the front door and the engine: it draws the audience and generates the answers.
  • Data turns those answers into datasets, analysis and reports - the credibility layer.
  • Polls aggregates external polling and predicts outcomes, giving Data external context.
  • Media aggregates and condenses news, links it back to our own data, and distributes it - sending audience back into Quiz.

The loop is: quizzes produce data, data produces authority, authority produces media reach, media reach produces quiz-takers.

Risk

  • Virality is not a plan we can schedule; a cycle can simply fail to catch.
  • Volunteer holarchy trades throughput and predictability for flexibility and cost.
  • Depending on public figures for reach means depending on their continued willingness - which depends entirely on staying neutral.
  • Automation concentrates fragility: an unattended pipeline that breaks stays broken.
